TAKASHIMA BREWERY

Craft beer nurtured in a town of natural water known as Shozu no Sato

TAKASHIMA BREWERY brews rich-tasting beer using the pure natural water from Harie water village.

The flavors are full of the charm of Takashima, and when you taste it, you will feel as if you are traveling to Takashima.

A century-old
famous spring that can only be found in Harie

The Harie area is rich in groundwater, with more than one ton of spring water gushing out every second from various places.

This pure water is called "Shozu" and is essential for daily life and agriculture.

The people of Harie treat water with care and continue to live in harmony with nature.

In this area, the awareness of "not polluting the water" is deeply rooted, and environmental conservation and daily life are in harmony.

Using Adoberry(i.e. boysenberry), a specialty product of Adogawa-cho, Takashima City.

We use local produce, such as "Adoberry" harvested around the Ado River in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, and our brewing activities are rooted in the local area.

  3. 03

Malt lees are reused as fertilizer in local fields

As part of our efforts to achieve the SDGs, we do not discard the malt lees generated during the manufacturing process, but instead reuse it as fertilizer in local fields.

It is highly nutritious and enriches the soil, promoting crop growth and leading to the production of high-quality crops.

Brewer Introduction

About our vision and our brewers

We, TAKASHIMA BREWERY, brew our craft beer by two middle aged men whose combined age is over 100 years old.

In this era of 100-year lifespans, we want to do what we want to do even over 50 years old.

We would appreciate your support in our new challenge.

Mr. Kousaka/
Marketing

I am an old man in my 50s who usually works in sales for our company's denim and recently made my debut as a brewer.

I can't believe I'm being involved in beer brewing at this age! Even though I'm an old man, I won't give up and want to continue working in brewing with my dreams.

Mr. Nishimura/
Brewing

As an avid traveller, I have visited 36 countries, discovered craft beer during my travels, and have been hooked for 10 years.

I never thought I'd be involved in brewing beer. I'll do my best to make delicious beer!
